Macy was so excited this year about playing Upward basketball... and even more excited about that basketball uniform! Macy's always loved to shoot hoops at home, but she had never played the game before, so there was a bit of a learning curve at first. She has a pretty good natural ability for most sports, but we aren't a very competitive family. Sports have never really been our thing, I guess you'd say. And at the first game, I was a little surprised at how little she knew about the rules of the game.... definitely our fault!!
But I was even more surprised the next week, and then the next, at how much she improved! Last week she was running up and down that court like she'd been doing this for years. She even scored 10 baskets! Go Macy!
I love watching her learn, and love even more the confidence she has in her ability now. I wish the season were longer.... she's going to be so sad when it's over. But until then, we'll keep cheering you on, little girl. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!

I knew she would catch on fast! She's the cutest thing, ever!
You mean you didn't play in b ball in HS? Just kidding...I didn't either. I'm such a girly girl like that!
I DID run track and Cross Country though.(:
When are her games I bet SS would love to come watch.
I think you have a natural on your hands. I've heard that program is great for self esteem too!
Both of our kids play Upward Basketball and love it. Our son's games are pretty intense - he's on the 4th/5th grade team. Those boys can get aggressive!
Just found your blog through Tip Junkie. Spent the last hour browsing your parties etc. Love the posts with the theme ideas (snowman etc) you find. My son plays Upward, too! I'm now your newest follower.
