Customer Star Wars Party

There are so many wonderful things about starting your own business. I think what I enjoy most is helping mom's who are working on parties for their little ones. Usually they are immersed in the planning, the details, the shopping and googling for ideas. And yes, sometimes they might be just a little bitty bit stressed about how it's all going to come together. So if I can relieve some of that party-planning stress, it makes my day!

As a mom of three and a party enthusiast myself, I know how the details of planning the perfect party can overwhelm a busy mom. If I can help that process along in some small way and create something personalized and special for their little one, then that makes me so very happy. There's really nothing better than a thoughtful note from a grateful mom!

Recently, I worked with a sweet mom in California on her son's Star Wars party. Yesi took some of the ideas from my own son's Star Wars party in July and created a spectacular shindig for her five year old. Yesterday she sent me photos to share.

Yesi used the Amanda's Parties To Go Star Wars Printables throughout Jameel's party from the Star Wars galactic food labels to the Jedi Knight personalized task badges for each of the guests. She made a "space" backdrop from fabric and had me create a Star Wars logo sign to attach to the fabric panel.

She served Yoda Soda, Death Star Doughnuts, Wookie Cookies and Light Sabers which she made from pretzel rods and covered them with colored chocolate and colored sugar.
How fun is that? She said all the kids LOVED their Yoda soda and light sabers!
Yesi also used Two Sugar Babies Star Wars fondant cupcake toppers.
Their work is perfection! Just look at that C3PO!

The cake was perfectly galactic, too -- blue fondant with a Star Wars Logo
and accents of silver stars made by Jay's Catering. .

Thank you, Yesi, for sharing Jameel's party. I'm so happy that I could help you with Star Wars Lego party items when you couldn't find any anywhere!
I hope Jameel had a wonderful birthday!

Bats and Bones..... A Halloween Dessert Table

I've got another fabulous Halloween party table today from Sandra Downie Event Designs .
Don't you just love that bat backdrop? And the black cheesecloth....
I think I've even seen this at the Dollar Tree this year --- fantastic!

Details DO make the difference. Sandra delivers a dessert table packed full of
spooktacular styling.... a purple glittery skull, strategically placed spiders, some candy corn and
sparkly haunted houses all add to the festive ambiance of this fun party table.
One of my favorite details is the "Bat Juice" label on the party drinks --
a fun way to "spook" up your Halloween bash.

Mixing paper wrapped boxes in different heights for food displays with lots of Halloween colored candy in jars is a great way to add interest to your table.

Sandra featured lots of different dessert items including these tombstone cookies
from The Flour Pot in NYC.

The Flour Pot also made the fondant bat sugar cookies - love these!

This I LOVE, too! Sandra found these paper coffins at AC Moore,
added a crushed up store-bought chocolate cookie pie crust and added a few skeletons for effect.

Poisonous Candy Bars..... you can't fool me! "Poisonous" or not, there's chocolate in there -- I'm in!

Such cute ideas! Sandra did an amazing job with her party table. Be sure to check out her other parties on her blog.

Gorgeous Halloween Dessert Table

It's getting close to the witching hour, as they say. And there is no shortage of amazing Halloween displays circulating on the web. This table from Sweets Indeed has to be one of my favorites. Chic and still a little creepy, too. Vintage with touches of Victorian elegance..... impeccable styling.... It's simply gorgeous. Makes me want to have a cocktail party!

The team at Sweets Indeed say they "tapped into their inner haunted mansion" in

designing the details of the desserts and props, even seeking out a

vintage rental store for many of the decorative pieces. Just revel in all of these details.....

The exquisite cake by Rebecca Lehman at Heaven Scent Cakes
with intricate designs of black lace.

Spooky cocktails

Candy bar wraps

And amazing party favors. As I said before, simply gorgeous.
It makes me happy to know there are designers out there this passionate about their craft! Wouldn't you have loved to be invited to THIS party??

Crazy, Spooky Cupcakes (and more)!

I can't stop grabbing great ideas from the internet (it's a problem..... I know) but there's still time before Halloween to get a few treats in! And I'm figuring there are probably lots of you out there who relish in all these spooky little treats, too. So go ahead..... let these cute ideas inspire you to whip up a zany treat for a class party or even a fun dessert for your family this week.

How about this creepy, crazy monster cupcake from My Sweet and Saucy ?

Who wouldn't want to did into that? And it's chocolate!

You can't possibly go wrong with chocolate.

Candy Corn Cupcakes from the Curvy Carrot - Yummy!!
These are so pretty, but really a pretty simple idea.

You might even win a few 10 year old boys over with this Zombie Hand Cupcake

from Sweetest Kitchen featuring green, rising from the grave hand sold at Bake it Pretty. At the Sweetest Kitchen, she's even got a bloody finger cupcake...... if your interested in that kind of thing.

Right up my alley.... easy and effective -- super sweet ghost cupcakes from Life of the Party .

And these yummy brownie-ball icky spiders from Bakerella. She is truly the most amazing talent. And I think she could inspire just about anybody to ball up some cake and dip it in chocolate!

And these yummy bat marshmallow fondant sugar cookies from Sandra Downie Events.

And these aren't cupcakes, but you could put these Monster Eyeballs on a cupcake.
Or better yet, don't go to all that trouble - just serve them skewered on a stick
like she did at Bee in the Bonnett. Cute! Cute!

I hope these ideas are as fun to you as they are to me.....
now if there were only a few more hours in the day!

Tailgate FREEBIES!! War Cam Eagle!

I'm not sure which of the next two pictures I love more.....

My new Shindig Parties Auburn Tailgate Toppers or......

My sweet children dressed up in all of their Auburn gear!
Living on "the Plains" of Auburn has been quite exciting lately --
an undefeated season and a little Heisman talk has everyone all a-buzz.
Including my children.

Saturday before the game they got what I would call a "fever" to make their own Aubie masks -- (that creative gene seems to run in the family). Out came the markers, the string, the scissors, paper and paper plates..... and these two little cuties made their own little creations all by themselves.... and wore them pretty much through the whole game! I love it!

Now we adults have been pretty pumped, too. Cam Newton has definitely brought some smiles to this little football town. And winning again Saturday night against an undefeated LSU,
well, that calls for a CELEBRATION! So this is what I decided to do.....

I made some
Auburn Tailgate Toppers
for all of you Auburn FANS out there! Yay!!
And best of all, I'm sending them to you FREE!!
All you have to do in return is become a
FAN of Shindig on Facebook here by clicking the "Like" button -- that's all!
You become a FAN and leave me a comment with your email address
OR email me at shindigparties@gmail.com and I'll send the files right to you!

Here's a peak at what you get....
8 different toppers to use on cupcakes or other tailgate food items.
Aren't they the cutest???
The process is simple -- you just Print, Punch with a 2" circle punch
and you are on your way to a super fun tailgate!

I hope everyone enjoys this little FREEBIE !

Need a cute centerpiece for a Halloween party or just want to make something creative with the kids this weekend? This spooky black licorice tree from Parents.com would be perfect. And now there's actually a use for that yucky licorice!

And look at this fantastic cupcake stand from Alexa at The Swell Life -- made from an old CD and a candlestick! Goodness, I love creativity! And even better, Alexa has a full tutorial on her blog.

Check out this inventive little candy corn stand for a cupcakes. Quick to make and really eye-catching.

It's from Following Phubie and is made with cardboard cake circles, some scrapbook paper, a vase and candy corn. Wouldn't this be cute to put those classroom cupcakes on? The kids would go crazy with excitement when you bring them in!

And I can't get enough of all the monster creations out there! These brownie monster pops from Better Homes and Gardens simply make me smile. Fondant covered brownies on a stick.... with silly eyes! How yummy and fun!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! The countdown to Trick-or-Treat is on!!
